We were pleasantly surprised to have an extra long weekend due to a snow day here in Massachusetts! Snow days are full of shoveling, snowball making, and plenty of excitement for our dog Gracie. She had a ball yesterday in the snow. We even visited with my parents and their two Scottish Terriers named Katie & Kody (aka "the scotties").
Gracie and "the scotties" had a blast this afternoon romping around in the yard. We have great video footage to prove it!
Do you have any videos or pictures of your dogs playing in the snow? Share them with Gracie's Bark!
We had a wonderful time last night on Christmas Eve with our family. Gracie got to open all of her presents and enjoyed every minute of it!
Gracie found her favorite dog toy, but as you can see she was wiped out from all the holiday festivities!
We also took a cute video today on Christmas morning of Gracie playing with one of her new toys.
Gracie wishes you all a very happy holiday and wonderful New Year!

I wanted to write to tell you that I am a very grateful pup. I love my life, my friends, my mom, and my dad very much.
What do I ask you in this letter for Christmas this year? Well, I have a list that’s near and dear:
I’d like for all pups needing a home, to find a family and need not to roam. I wish for all those scared, cold and hungry, to be safe, warm and have a nice full tummy. I ask that you pay particular attention, give a pat on the head and a special mention, to all the people who rescue and shelter, they all make a great helpers. But, if I may be selfish for just one minute, even though I may have hit my limit, I’d like to add one more item to my Christmas list I will be a good girl and hope you can assist. Please help me hit my mission of 500 fans on my Facebook page I promise my audience I will engage!
That’s all I ask for as my Christmas gift, for you to bring these on your evening shift.
Gracie made a new friend this weekend named Brody. Tricia White, a great friend and colleague, has a very handsome dog name Brody. Gracie and I visited with them at their home and the dogs had a blast together.
I love to give Gracie and opportunity to meet new people and dogs, even though she sometimes prefers four-footed friends over people. Tricia was such a great host and we want to thank her for opening her home to Gracie and I.
If you are looking for a great food blog to share and view fabulous recipes, especially during the holiday season, check out Friends Food Family and make sure you tell Tricia: Gracie sent you!
We are always trying to improve on Gracie's social skills. Australian Shepherds need extensive exposure to people and to unusual sights and sounds. Otherwise their natural caution can become suspicion or shyness. We are constantly working on socializing her whenever we can. Do you encourage your dog to make new friends?
We had a great time at Manypaws Pet Villa on Sunday, December 5th! We were able to raise money for a local animal shelter, Animal Advocates, in Dartmouth MA and mingle with some wonderful fellow dog owners.
Gracie would like to thank everyone who stopped by to visit us. We were pleasantly surprised by the big turnout!
We hope you all enjoyed your time with us and look forward to another great event next year. If you are looking to obtain your dog photos with Santa from Sunday, please email Joan & Karen at Manypaws Pet Villa or call the office at 508-636-5566.
Amy Carpenter contacted Gracie's Bark to spotlight her dog Doyle.
"Doyle was born in March of 2007 in Arkansas. He was rescued by Brockton Blue Dog Shelter and adopted by his parents, Danny Naples & Amy Carpenter of Plymouth in May of 07. Doyle’s breed is unknown, but is believed to be a Boxer/Rhodesian Ridge Back mix. Doyle is very handsome and has quite the southern charm. He adores all people, and actually prefers people better than canine/feline. Despite his preference to humans, he has some good friends whom he hangs out with. His girlfriend, Cagney is a young boxer who lives across the street and Doyle adores staring out the window at her. His best buds are, Diesel Girl who was the September Spotlight Dog who also enjoys the beach, Dwayne who is an exceptionally fuzzy buddy and his cousin Digger who’s a fun lovable guy too.
Doyle enjoys long walks on the beach, digging in the sand, snuggling on the couch, playing ball, car rides, going to Grandma & Pa’s and most of all hanging out with his Mom, Dad or Auntie. Doyle’s the most friendly, loveable dog and he will make anyone fall in love with him. Doyle loves licking faces and leaning on people to get a nice butt or belly rub!
Doyle made his first debut on the Vineyard Vines Blog, modeling a pink whale tie of his Daddy’s (as seen in picture). Doyle is truly honored to be Gracie’s December Spotlight, thanks Gracie and Tammi for thinking of him!!
Doyle wants to wish everyone a woof, woof Happy Holiday!"
Doyle is extremely handsome and we want to thank him for becoming part of Gracie's Bark Blog Family. Every month Gracie will spotlight a dog. We are now looking into the New Year for our January spotlight!
Please email your entry (short story) with a photo to [email protected] and tell her about your favorite pal! Additional pictures and video welcome, space permitting.
