"In the car home I fall asleep, curled into a heap"
We can’t begin to explain how much Gracie loves to walk and run at the beach. We bring her every weekend and enjoy watching her romp around in the sand. And, we all know "a tired dog is a happy dog".
It’s a great time of year right now to bring your dog to the beach. Most beaches allow dogs during the off-season and it is a great place for you and your dog to get some exercise.
We always like mentioning our two favorite beaches close to home: Gooseberry Island and Horseneck Beach. We are regulars at these two locations throughout the year and off-season.
Rain or shine, we always make an effort to bring her to her favorite place.
But recently, we have been talking about taking some day trips to Cape Cod to explore their beautiful sandy beaches with Gracie. We’ve done some research and wanted to share our findings with all of you.
Dogs are welcome in the off-season on most Cape Cod beaches, with some restrictions:

Dogs are prohibited from all beaches in the Town of Brewster between June 1st and October 1st. They are allowed the rest of the year.

Cape Cod National Seashore
The park offers a 40-mile stretch of pristine sandy beaches. Dogs on leash are allowed year-round on all of the seashore beaches, except for seasonally posted nesting or lifeguarded beaches. Leashed pets are also allowed on fire roads, and the Head of the Meadow bicycle trail in Truro.
